I had never heard of this Forty Under 40 contest until someone showed me the nominees and said hey look who made the list.
I’m curious so I look and see that the therapist who destroyed me is on there.
Maybe he deserves to be on the list.
Maybe Montgomery County has a low bar for that sort of thing.
Maybe he deserves it because he is kind and patient and respectful to almost everyone, except for me. Which, as I have repeated many times, is perplexing and painful. I’ve never been hated by any of my therapists before or after and I don’t know why he decided to hate me out of everybody.
But I don’t want to take the spotlight off of him because if he wins he gets, well something I guess, I’m not sure exactly what because I didn’t get that far, but more good publicity for sure, and that means even more clients! Yay! More clients to get the surprise of their lives if he flips on them and they have no clue what they did to deserve it.
Hey Montgomery County, what’s the limit for how many clients a licensed professional counselor can bully and still make your list? 5 per year? 10 per year? Do the clients’ ages make a difference? If a counselor devastates clients under forty, for example, is that worse?
I never wish bad things on clients, even his. I think if he’s as good to them as he pretended he’d be with me, that’s great. I don’t believe in sweeping the clients like me who he was mean to, under the rug, but what are a few broken clients out of thousands? I mean, the numbers speak for themselves.
Besides, who is going to want to waste time or energy keeping track of the Other Clients anyway? We don’t belong in the picture with his happy, respected clients, because we aren’t like them, we aren’t the Chosen Clients. We are footnotes.
We’re just people.
