Aaron Gleaves did not terminate me over text. He gets a lot of credit for that. I don’t know why he broke up with me like he did, but a cold text would’ve been worse.
I appreciate and respect him being brave enough to have a session with me instead of texting like a coward.
Also, if he hated me, then it was probably hard for him to give me a session. Maybe he wasn’t looking at me because I disgusted him. That would be a very uncomfortable position to be in as a therapist. I hate this client and she disgusts me, but I should at least not text her a termination.
When there’s somebody we’re done with who disgusts us, we just want to get away from them ASAP. Maybe it was all he could muster to just get on the video call and wing it. Of course I feel awful thinking that he wanted to be away from me to that extreme, but I’ve had exes who I was desperate to get away from and it wasn’t easy to spend another second around them.
Aaron gave me a bad termination, but if he was desperate to be rid of me then it makes sense and I can see how it wasn’t fun at him at all.
